At Upper Yarra Community Enterprise, we’re committed to supporting and strengthening our community by providing grants and funding that offer vital financial assistance to help our region thrive.
Community Grants Round
Community Grants Program
Applications open twice per financial year.
Do you have a project idea, an upcoming event, or an activity that could benefit your local community? Our Community Grants Program could provide the support you need to bring it to life.
Grants are available for community groups, clubs, and organisations with initiatives operating within or serving the Upper Yarra region (postcodes 3799 and 3797).
We welcome applications from all types of community organisations—whether you’re focused on sport and recreation, education, arts and culture, health and wellbeing, social services, children and youth, aged care, or animal welfare.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applications must be submitted by organisations (not individuals).
- Your initiative should clearly benefit the Upper Yarra community and align with the values of Community Bank Warburton and Yarra Junction.
- Applicants must hold an ABN or partner with an organisation that does.
- Funding is not available for retrospective projects.
- Organisations with previous funding must have completed and acquitted those grants to be eligible for new funding.

Community Grants Round 2024/2025
- ADRA Community Care Centre Redwood – Receiving $3,872 – For their Signage Project to refresh the front entrance to their Warburton premises.
- Edible Garden Warburton Community Garden – Receiving $6,782 – For their Garden Shed project to complement their separately funded Water Tank project (Yarra Valley Water).

Reefton Volunteer Fire Brigade – Receiving $1,000 – For their project to replace damaged trestle tables.

Upper Yarra SES – Receiving $3,700 – For their IT infrastructure improvements.

Warburton Millgrove Football Netball Club – Receiving $5,000 – For their Electronic NETBALL Scoreboard project.

Warburton Tennis Club – Receiving $1,000 – For their Tennis Outreach Program taking Tennis to our local primary schools.

Warburton Valley CEDA – Receiving $1,000 – For conducting their quarterly member business forums.

Warburton Volunteer Fire Brigade – Receiving $2,725 – For their Computer and Network upgrades project at the Warburton Main Station.

Yarra Junction Bowling Club – Receiving $2,500 – For their Clubroom Furniture Upgrade project.

Yarra Junction Community Group Incorporated – A new group established just last year – Receiving $5,000. For their Public Art (Yarra Junction) project.

Yarra Ranges Film Society – Receiving $2,700 – For their annual Warburton Film Festival – celebrating the 40th edition in 2025.

Yarra Valley ECOSS – Receiving $2,500 – For the UpCycles venture based at their Wesburn location.

Warburton Primary School – Receiving $4,000 – For their Warburton Primary School 150th Anniversary Celebration.

Cire Services Incorporated – Receiving $2,000 – For their Community Halloween Event in October.

Little Yarra Steiner School – Receiving $2,583 – For their project to improve community access and safety with solar-powered car park and path lighting.

Warburton Pre-School – Receiving $3,000 – For their project Cultivating Growth, Wellbeing and Connection Through Nature-Based Learning.

Warburton Bowls Club – Receiving $4,000 – For their project, Refrigerator Upgrade.

Upper Yarra Adult Riding Club – Receiving $800 – For their project Cultivating Growth, Wellbeing and Connection Through Nature-Based Learning

I’m writing to express our gratitude on behalf of Yarra Valley ECOSS. Your sponsorship over the years has been so important to our survival and growth as a community group.
Thanks to recent funding support we have been able to build a Commercial Kitchen, keep staff to roll out the Weekly Valley Market, and construct a road to Pollination Place which has enabled our work in the area of Food Security and trials to really take off. Now there’s a Community Viticulture Group, the BioChar test plots and compost trials utilising waste from Vipassana Centre and Four Pillars Gin.
The Warburton Tennis Club would love to recognize, applaud and shower the Community Bank of Warburton with appreciation and heartfelt thanks on your Birthday. You have supported us for more than a decade with funding for our very courts, the Warburton Cup Tournament and lately our tennis outreach primary school’s project. Hip hip hooray, we could not have done it without you.
On behalf of Forever Friends Animal Rescue, a massive thanks to Community Bank Warburton. Your donations and support have seen us develop a number of key projects at our Gladysdale sanctuary, and continue to provide first-rate care for animals in need. A massive congratulations on your 25th birthday – you are a powerhouse for the local community.
Community Defib Program
Community Defibrillator Program – Apply via our Community Grant Rounds (Feb & Nov)
Launched in 2023, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to community safety. Through the program, Community Bank Warburton and Yarra Junction provide 24/7 Community Accessible Defibrillators, with up to five units allocated each year to deserving local organisations and groups.
We invest approximately $15,000 annually in this life-saving initiative. You will need to source a quote and apply via our grant rounds.
Defibrillators are crucial in the event of a cardiac arrest. By making them more accessible across our region, we’re helping save lives and creating a safer community—one defib at a time.
