Chelsea Barnard
Chelsea’s love for nursing began at an early age when she saw firsthand the care given to her sister in hospital. Her vision to become a nurse formed from a desire to go beyond expectations, be part of each patient’s story and bring something extra to each person she cares for. With a strong desire to specialise in paediatrics, her dream job is at the Royal Children’s Hospital and she would also like to volunteer in humanitarian aid.
Chelsea is a member of the Warburton Netball team, where she has coached and been Netballer of the Year, and an active leader in her school through the Student Representative Council and as College Captain. She was also a member of the School band.
Chelsea’s Scholarship will help pay for her commuting fees to and from university. She knows the money will give her independence, taking the financial burden off her parents and enabling her to focus on her studies in balance with part-time work.
