The Wesley Melba Men’s Shed snags $3856
Upper Yarra residents can look forward to some up-market sausage sizzles at the Warburton Men’s Shed from now on.
The shed is about to purchase a new barbeque so they can get out into the community and over a snag –with or without onions – talk to people about what the shed has to offer.
Kath Holton from Wesley’ Mission’s Melba Programs accepted a cheque for $3856 from the Upper Yarra Community Enterprise on Wednesday and said it was the kind of support that ensured the shed continued to operate and that they get the things they need.
‘We want to be able to get out and spread the word about what we do and the equipment we get with this sponsorship will help with that,’ she said.
Peter Kimberley from UYCE said the Community Bank had been there for the Men’s Shed when it started and was happy to once again be supporting such a worthwhile local project.
