Visage 2013 locals painting locals
One of the premier art prizes in the region, Visage features portraits of people who live, work or play in the Yarra Valley. Now in its fourth year, Visage provides a chance for everyone to participate in this increasingly popular exhibition.
The Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Banks provide sponsorship funding for this event, and this year are contributing $3500. This will help support the prize pool and marketing activities for the event, which opens on 13 September 2013 at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre.
A walk of the gallery will reveal many of our shareholders, customers and members of the local community as talented artists and interesting subjects!
Julie Ricketts won the People’s Choice award, with her entry “Billy turns 2”, a glorious, light-filled pastel portrait of her grandson with balloons. It was a close contest with Gina Baines’ “Into the Blue” circular and uniquely framed portrait of Sunni, coming sedond. Julie will receive a $200 cash prize for her beautiful work.
