Warburton Primary School magical mosaic
Warburton Primary School was one of the first to receive sponsorship funding when the Upper Yarra Community Enterprise opened Warburton Community Bank in 2000.
In a recent round of funding an artist-in-residence program has been funded for $5,000. The mosaic program will see local artist Sioux Dollman working with students on a mural to beautiful the school entrance. ‘In a small school like this, its very hard to raise anywhere near that amount of money,’ says Principal Cameron Heath. ‘It’s just fantastic for the school to be able to offer the diversity of activities and undertake the projects that we do because of this funding.’
The Warburton Primary School has received almost $90,000 funding to date for projects including playground upgrades, fruit in schools programs, revegetation management, literacy and reading programs.
