Youth Foundation supports programs that have a specific impact for young people in the Upper Yarra Valley. Aleksei Bondarenko-Edwards, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Upper Yarra recently accepted funding from the Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Bank branches for a community services program aimed at addressing some of the key challenges faced by young people in the valley and its inherent characterises as a regional area – for example poor access to public transport, poor access to support services, low levels of engagement with tertiary education and high risk factors particularly pertinent to young people.

Funding for this project will see participants empowered to create change for themselves, their peers and the Upper Yarra Community. Identity, capabilities and connections are key to developing vital life skills in leadership, teamwork, project planning and delivery, and confidence building. new partnerships will be built cross culturally, cross generationally and across three schools in the area.

We are so excited about this project and look forward to celebrating the future with you!
